When MeadowPatch™ is the Right Choice

Ideal for projects where native wildflower establishment from seed is too slow, inconsistent, or difficult to control.
Targeted Wildflower Diversity
Add concentrated pockets of native wildflowers exactly where visual interest, biodiversity, or pollinator support is needed.
Faster Than Seed
MeadowPatch™ arrives as an established planting unit, helping projects move beyond the uncertainty of seed-only establishment.
Flexible Patch Layout
Install as full patches, arrange in clusters, or cut into smaller pieces to support the planting design.
Pollinator Habitat
Support pollinators and native biodiversity by introducing established wildflower communities into the landscape.

MeadowPatch™ is supplied as individual pre-grown native wildflower patches measuring approximately 11 inches × 21 inches, or about 1.5 sq. ft. per patch. Each patch is grown in a 1 – 1.5 inches soil-less medium reinforced with a biodegradable fibre base.

MeadowPatch™ can be used independently or alongside MeadowTurf™

when a project requires added wildflower

concentration, pollinator value, or design flexibility.

Common Applications Include:

Projects Requiring Added Wildflower Diversity
Pollinator Habitat Projects
Municipal Parks and Naturalized Landscapes
Ecological Landscaping and Low-Input Gardens
Prairie, Meadow, and Restoration Infill
Shipping

MeadowPatch™ is produced in individual units measuring approximately 27 cm × 53 cm, making each patch easy to handle, arrange, and install on site.

MeadowPatch™ is typically shipped on 48″ × 48″ pallets for efficient transport and site handling. As the plants mature and the patches firm up later in the growing season, pallets can hold up to approximately 160 MeadowPatch™ units, or about 240 sq. ft. per pallet.

Because MeadowPatch™ is grown during the season for project use, delivery is typically coordinated to align with the project’s installation window.

Installation

MeadowPatch™ can be installed as individual clusters, arranged throughout a MeadowTurf™ or seeded landscape, or cut into smaller pieces depending on the desired planting design.

Prepare the soil by removing visible weeds and using existing garden soil, loam, or screened topsoil.

Lightly wet the soil before installation and apply a balanced fertilizer at the time of planting. Cut MeadowPatch™ as needed using a utility knife. Place the patch firmly onto prepared soil and ensure exposed edges are covered with soil to support rooting and reduce drying.

Water deeply after installation, then continue watering every 2–3 days until the roots have established into the surrounding soil.

Maintenance

Once established, MeadowPatch™ requires minimal maintenance.

In garden, meadow, and naturalized landscape settings, cut back the previous year’s growth in early spring.

Leaving seed heads and standing plant material through winter can support birds, insects, and seasonal habitat value.

Fertilize at installation and, where appropriate, annually with a balanced controlled-release N-P-K fertilizer to support long-term plant health.
